Diary of a Woman Scorned
|
| Starting this coming Tuesday, I will be out of town, more or less through Labor Day. Though I may periodically be on to check +mail, don't count on me for anything resembling RP or more than one-sentence replies until after I am back.
This of course also goes for my alts Moire and Morgana, as well. | comments: Leave a comment |
| Just a general head's up -- I shall be gone, probably through Tuesday or Wednesday (chance I'll check in on Monday night...?)
This means of course also that Moire/Morgana is gone, as well. | comments: Leave a comment |
| A lot of people seem confused about what a salon is; this has nothing to do with going somewhere to get one's hair styled (except inasmuch as it is advisable to show up with neatly-coiffed hair).
This salon is, rather, a social gathering for intellectual and artistic ends. It will have a set topic (this time, the History, Achievements and Duties of the Nobility of Amber). Anyone who wants to talk about this topic, hear more about this topic, or just see and be seen is encouraged to show up.
I'm hoping some of you will come with poetry, artwork or songs related to the topic. If so, please, please, prepare a token, and set it so that 'all' can read/see it, so we can cut down somewhat on spam. I'd encourage all of you to still pose your presentation, but preferably in a way that uses up, say, the usual 2-6 lines of posing rather than 3x20 lines of posing at once. However, there are no hard and fast rules for all this. One way or another, if you have skills of artistry of some sort, this is a great opportunity to display them.
Bear in mind, however, this is a formal court occasion; there will be guards and the usual etiquette of courtiers will be in play. If you want to cause trouble, great! Just try to give me an OOC heads up as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly.
As of right now we are planning to hold the Salon this Thursday, June 10, starting around 6 eastern (that is 4 pm game time). If you want to stipulate your character putting in a brief appearance even though you can't be online, that is cool, just let me know. | comments: 6 comments or Leave a comment |
| Set up: Beatrice's army, the Damesmen, are all over Brentinor and Monsalvat, in Lyonesse. The Black Knight's scaled, humanoid army is set to invade north, through Brentinor and up towards Monsalvat. They've scouted ahead to find the best route, held by mere knots of men who are spread thinly over a large territory.

| | Sometimes one must sit down a junior female relative and have "The Talk." Not about the birds and the bees, but much worse, about merchant vs. pirate fleets. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| One does a great deal of sitting. This is so that others may also sit, as they must stand if I stand.
One eats one's food impossibly slowly. This is so that others may take their time, as at formal meals they cannot begin until I begin, and must stop the course the moment I finish.
One does a good deal of marching about in public. This I do not mind so much; it reminds me of soldiers on parade, but it can still be tedious.
One misses dressing as one pleases. One misses doing a great many things as one pleases, and to compensate one tries to impose what one pleases on one's surroundings. An interesting trap I do not mean to allow to become a downward spiral.
One has griefs and exhaustion and care and worry and must still talk to people as if one were not wishing for the clean catharsis of blood and battle. Yet one has Purpose, and it is nearly the same thing.
One has terrible, terrible purpose. | comments: 9 comments or Leave a comment |
| Last night I completely FUBARed some gossips and other things.
I held a lovely event at the Palace! There was a +setting in place throughout, and things happened! So, afterwards, I started a +gossip. It was longish and I had fun playing with it in +edit. I proofed it!
Then I went to go fix the +setting on the room, and entered the editor. Missed the note I was already in the editor. Wiped out the temporary setting with +ed/wipe, sorted out what it was meant to say, and hit +ed/done... so my +setting got posted as a gossip. I hastily then also posted my REAL gossip, went back, fixed the +setting, and did a +submit to staff to explain my idiocy, except I was so tired and clumsy I hit 'return' after the word 'Help!' so in fact had to submit TWICE.
Don't drive, or type, sleepy, Boys and Girls.
So the moral of the story: these were obvious errors. However, I know various friends have gotten confused lately and made less-obvious errors that were made just as innocently (if just as daffily and just as sleepily) as the stuff I just described. Try not to jump to conclusions.
Other moral of the story: our staff are long-suffering and awesome. I hope they got a good chuckle out of this in addition to whatever eye-rolling was going on. | comments: Leave a comment |
| Trapped Together
It was perfect sunny day. Leaving behind husband and child, Mary Sue had been magically transported through shadow itself, and realizing only after she arrived that she'd forgotten her shoes. The Prince of the Hunt who welcomed her helped her out of a thicket of brambles, but not before it had taken half her skirt with it. It was not until later when the Prince of Knives arrived that she realized quite how much leg was left exposed. They had all been here together for two days, it was hot, and the tension between them all could be cut like a knife.....
Starring Quina as Mary Sue.
Who wants the next paragraph? And remember, PG 13!!!! | comments: 30 comments or Leave a comment |
